No Green Wash just green printing

Where-ever possible, the paper we print on is environmentally friendly FSC or PEFC certified paper

We are now carboNZero^CertTM certified as an organisation

In 2010 Soar Printing signed up to join the carboNZero programme run by Landcare Research and in June 2010 we became the first corporate printing company in New Zealand to achieve carboNZero certification for our organisation.

The first step involved measuring our organisation’s carbon footprint. Now that we understand where our greenhouse gas emissions come from, we have set in place plans to manage and reduce these emissions at source through top management commitment, setting targets and reporting on emissions reduction performance. These include initiatives such as reducing energy consumption, changing company vehicles and recycling. The final leap to zero was achieved by purchasing verified carbon credits from a Palmerston North landfill gas project (the use of methane to generate electricity). These steps were all independently verified prior to achieving certification.

Soar Printing is proud to make a credible and robust carbon neutral claim using the internationally recognised carboNZero certification mark.

We’re Diamond

In 2005, Soar Print attained the Enviro-Mark Gold award, a Landcare, government-funded initiative. March 2008 we achieved Platinum November 2008 Soar attained the highest award - Diamond. Soar Printing is committed to Enviro-Mark as it represents a big part of our environmental plan and objectives. The Enviro-Mark system now drives our companies purchasing in both consumables and equipment along with waste reduction and recycling to ensure our practices leave minimal impact on the environment.

In April 2009 we became ISO 14001 certified, an internationally recognised environmental scheme.

And we’re FSC certified

Soar Print was the first printer in New Zealand to be certified by the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC), an independent, not-for-profit, non-government organisation promoting responsible forest management. We encourage all our customers to buy FSC paper, so that we can guarantee it comes from a responsible forestry programme.

Soar is now PEFC certified

In keeping with our commitment to offer as many environmental solutions to our customers as possible. Soar obtained certification to print PEFC papers using the chain of custody to guarantee customers the paper we use is from a responsible forest management program an traceable being a certified . Like FSC, PEFC papers should be used when ever possible to ensure we all do our bit to help preserve the worlds forests, local indigenous rights and the biodiversity of the area.

ISO Certification

We have achieved ISO accreditation 9001. Our accreditation acknowledges that we utilise best practice quality management systems for everything from staff training and workflow procedures to equipment maintenance and monitoring customer satisfaction.

In April 2009, Soar printing became ISO 14001 certified. ISO 14001 is an internationally recognised environmental certification. Attaining this goal means Soar printing holds the highest environmental certifications in New Zealand.
