Recently Soar Printing helped food technologist Scotty Baragwanath with labels for an amazing new range of premium breakfast foods under the brand Blue Frog.
Recognising that his product packaging needed to reflect the high quality of his ingredients, Scotty worked with a Sydney design agency to develop brand and label designs. Then he turned to Soar for printing advice. Brian Landry and Natalie Hunter introduced him to the ‘just in time’ production benefits of digital label printing and the shelf impact of ‘Color Logic’, a process of printing onto metallised adhesive stock to create labels with spectacular metallic effects.
“If we’d gone for printed bags out of China, the lead times would have been up to 12 weeks. But by using plain white bags and digitally printed foil labels, we can have mixed runs of SKUs and turnaround in just a couple of days. It means we can react quickly to market demands and easily refresh our flavour range whenever we want to”, says Scotty.
The Blue Frog range includes six cereals – two paleo, two gluten-free and two wheat-free. It also features three types of coffee beans, each carefully roasted to fit a specific market niche. And to top off the cereals, which are delicious served with a big blob of Greek yoghurt, there’s a delectable Zesty Orange Syrup.
You can buy Blue Frog products from the La Cigale French Market in Parnell (on every Saturday and Sunday) or order online at www.bluefrogbreakfast.co.nz.
To win a bundle of Blue Frog breakfast products, ‘like’ our Blue Frog post on Facebook before noon on Friday 1 May.
