When you have a few hours up your sleeve this summer, take yourself to Auckland Museum. There are some great exhibitions and activities on for the holiday season. The Museum is open 10am-5pm every day (apart from Christmas Day).
Soar Printing is proud to be Auckland Museum’s official print partner. We also sponsor the printing of ‘What’s On’ with an annual donation of pro bono printing. The latest edition of What’s On points out some of the neat things you can see and do this summer:
-
WOW® World of Wearable Art™ exhibition. Until March 22 you can see this amazing collection of wearable works of art before it tours the world. This collection is fun for all ages.
-
Entangled Islands. Samoa, New Zealand and the First World War, the first in a series of exhibitions about the Kiwi war experience, this exhibition tells the story of NZ’s first action in WWI.
-
Tales of Tamaki: Stories Over Auckland. An interactive event for the whole family running from January 7 to 26 at the Museum Events Centre. Includes fun craft activities, storytelling, music and dance. An amazing experience to strengthen your bond with Auckland.

A Soldier’s Diary
Soar has another connection with Auckland Museum through the war diary of Lt. Colonel Fred Soar, written in 1914 while he was on board the ‘Limerick’ as part of the 1st expeditionary Force on his way to Egypt. The original diary is currently being considered for inclusion in the museum’s war memorial collection. We reproduced copies of the diary especially for Soar family members.
