Santa’s ‘naughty and nice’ list and delicious Moustache cookies crossed paths with Coats Design’s 2014 client Christmas gift.
The gift pack featured two individually-boxed cookies – one wickedly chocolate (naughty), the other conservatively cinnamon (nice) – held together with an outer sleeve. Matt Grantham, Design Director at Coats, explains why Christmas is an important opportunity for the agency:
“Our Christmas gift to clients is a chance to demonstrate our design abilities and showcase special print effects. We also want to show them that you don’t need a huge budget to get something really special. So instead of spending heaps on foiling or embossing, we opted for relatively simple print outputs, then we added a hand-crafted creative touch with gold and silver spray paint – creative tagging. Every member of the Coats team was able to personalise the outer sleeve for their clients, so no two gift packs were the same.”
Soar account manager Natalie Hunter helped Matt to find the right stocks for the cookie packaging. She also assisted with technical design refinements and identified that a combination of offset (for cookie boxes) and digital (for outer sleeve) was the best way to produce the components.
“Soar helped us to achieve a high quality result within a limited budget. It was great having a print partner who cared as much as we did about a beautiful outcome”, says Matt.
