Every year the New Zealand print industry goes into a tizz while we identify the best print jobs for entry into the Pride In Print Awards. For us, these awards are the Oscars.
We have a record number of entries in this year’s awards, ranging from envelopes and pack stickers to backlit panels and cookbooks. A couple of entries we’d like to highlight are:
The Laura Faire Limited Edition Cookery book
This beautiful book celebrates authentic, seasonal New Zealand recipes. It’s printed to be as environmentally-friendly as possible, using vegetable inks and paper sourced from responsibly-managed forests. When it comes to sustainability, Soar has more green credentials than any other printer in New Zealand, so we were a natural choice for Laura’s cookbook. More about the book.
Altezano Coffee labels
Boutique Auckland coffee roaster Altezano Brothers produces more than 10 different coffee products, all created from ethically-sourced, locally roasted beans. Rocket Print, a Soar company, prints Altezano’s labels in multiple SKU runs that make it cost-effective to have a different label for every type of coffee. Read a case study about these labels.
Last year we won eight gold awards, this year we have our fingers crossed for more.

Altezano are able to print several SKUs in a single print run with Rocket Print's digital label press.

The author wanted sustainable printing, and that's exactly what she got. Vegetable inks and all.
