Direct mail that demands action

 

Direct mail gives you a physical presence in your customer's home or office. Email, on the other hand, is easily and quickly deleted. To produce cost-effective direct mail, we recommend you involve us at the outset.  Bring your graphic designer with you.

Seven processes and embellishments that make your DM piece work harder
 
1. Die cutting

Die cutting is a printing process that involves cutting shapes out of a sheet of paper using a steel rule die. In New Zealand, it’s pretty rare for a printer to have in-house die cutting capabilities. But at Soar your job doesn’t have to leave the premises.

2. Foiling

Foiling is the application of pigment or metallic foil, often gold or silver, to paper or card. It can be combined with embossing to create a striking almost-3D image. Foiling is done in-house at Soar, to ensure your finished print meets the highest quality standards.

3. UV spot gloss

As the name suggests, UV spot gloss is applied to chosen areas of a printed piece. It helps to draw attention to that part of the design and give your printed material a special point of difference. A particularly effective technique involves applying a UV spot gloss on top of a matte surface – the resulting contrast between the two surfaces is very eye-catching.

4. Flow wrapping

Flow wrapping protects your direct mailer and lets your customers see what they’re getting. Our flow wrapping machine can run two kinds of wrap - matt and gloss. The resulting wrap has clean sealed edges – there’s no unsightly double seam strip that some machines produce.

5. Perforation

Perforations entice your customers to take action. Everyone likes to tear along the dotted line. Soar can perforate any paper stock to create tickets, vouchers and reply cards.

6. Personalisation

Soar Printing has HP Indigo presses that can produce personalised print, driven by an Excel spreadsheet. You can change out names, addresses, areas of text and images. You can also use versioning for ‘print on demand’. For example, print a one-off version of a brochure based on client information collected by your call centre.

7. Printed

The simplest forms of direct mail are postcards and flyers. Using vegetable inks and stock sourced from FSC® and PEFC certified forests, we can cost-effectively produce print runs of any size.
