Printing services that deliver consistent quality

Soar Print has been travelling the continual improvement pathway for nearly 100 years. Since Lt. Colonel Fred Soar founded the company back in 1920, we've aspired to lead the print industry in New Zealand. This drive to blaze a trail has made us early adopters of proven new technology, workflow systems and management concepts.

As with our sustainability position, we dont just pay lip service to quality assurance we achieve compliance measures and certifications that prove it.

Quality Management

ISO9001

Soar Printing has been ISO 9001 certified since 1995. This means we have a quality management system in place which is independently audited every fifteen months to make sure we comply to the standard. Our goal is to exceed a 99.5% acceptance rate by our customers on all printed jobs.

ISO14001

This means we have a fully audited environmental management system in place and it ensures we are doing the right thing for the environment. We regularly assess all our environmental risks and impacts and have set in place procedures to minimise these.

ISO 12647-2 Graphic Technology

ISO 12647-2 relates to process control for the production of half-tone colour separations, proof and production prints Part 2: Offset lithographic processes. Soar Printing achieved certification for ISO 12647-2 in 2011.

World-class colour management

In  2011 Soar achieved certification for ISO 12647-2 Graphic Technology – Process Control for the production of half-tone colour separations, proofs and production prints. As this is the global standard, it means that  work printed in another country to this standard is easily matched right here in Auckland, giving global brand owners confidence that brand standards are not compromised.

Furthermore, once clients are aware that we actually print to an exact formula there is no need to press check or even hard proof, which saves carbon footprint and speeds up the process. To achieve this level of consistency on both coated and uncoated paper types, we use the Heidelberg Prinect Image Control centre and PrinectColor Toolbox. From pack labels and posters to brochures and letterheads, everything we print for you will  live up to your brand specifications.

Lean manufacturing

Soar aims to be the leader in the New Zealand print industry by using innovative work practices that deliver better value for customers. Lean manufacturing is part of this.

Lean manufacturing is about reducing waste of all types, particularly the waste of time, energy, materials, resources and space.

Soar’s lean plan has four main goals:
  1. Improve quality, by following company procedure to ensure every job is produced right first time
  2. Eliminate waste, by sorting and separating the needed from the unneeded items – tools, parts, materials, paperwork – and discarding the unneeded
  3. Reduce lead times, by evaluating and improving the efficiency of workflows  i.e. the steps and motions our people take to perform tasks
  4. Reduce total costs, by maintaining an ongoing commitment to the principles of lean manufacturing
