Printing services that deliver constant quality
Soar Print has been travelling the continual improvement pathway for nearly 100 years. Since Lt. Colonel Fred Soar founded the company back in 1920, weve aspired to lead the print industry in New Zealand. This drive to blaze a trail has made us early adopters of proven new technology, workflow systems and management concepts. During our quest for improvement, we have achieved these quality-related certifications:
ISO9001 QUALITY MANAGEMENT
The internationally recognised standard for the quality management of businesses.
Soar Print achieved ISO 9001 in 1994. Our quality management system, which is continually being improved, feeds customer assurance and on-going customer satisfaction.
ISO 12647-2 GRAPHIC TECHNOLOGY

Offset Printing
Soar has consistently invested in the latest Heidelberg offset presses. These marvellous machines print at speeds that make the mind boggle.
Heidelberg Anicolor
This press proves that offset printing can compete with digital printing for short runs and come out the winner. It offers super-fast set up for quick turnarounds and less waste paper during make-ready. For runs between 300 and 3000, Anicolor is extremely competitive.
Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 105
The XL 105 can outperform every other press in its category. It can operate at speeds of 18,000 sheets per hour, or 5 sheets per second. This translates to shorter lead times. It prints on stock weights from 0.03gsm to 1mm, making it ideal for everything from the lightest overlay to packaging. And it handles sheet sizes up to 750 x 1050mm, with a maximum image area of 740 x 1050. The on-board Heidelbergs Spectrophotometric colour measurement system leaves nothing to chance it can even detect errors in prepress files.
Heidelberg SM52
A two-colour A3 press that delivers cost-effective quality. It can also number and perforate inline.
Heidelberg GTO52
A one-colour A3 press for straightforward, cost-sensitive print jobs. Like the SM52, it can also number and perforate inline.
Finishing
Soars in-house finishing area provides a complete range of finishing options, including cutting, collating, folding, binding, gluing, laminating and more. Our experienced finishing team work with the latest technology to ensure you get exactly what you need.
Heidelberg Stahl folder
The latest in folding technology, this machine is fast and precise. It can communicate directly with our XL105 press to save time, guarantee register and ensure overall accuracy. The Stahl also allows us to meet special requirements, such as folding oversize print sheets and in-line gluing.
Heidelberg Stitchmaster ST100
Trims while the conveyor belts are stationary, which eliminates marking. On-the-fly adjustment of side trimming and diverse trimmer options.
Flow wrapping
Soars flow wrapping machine can run two kinds of wrap - matt (standard plastic film) and gloss (cellophane which is actually BOPP - bi-axially oriented polypropylene). Our machine produces clean sealed edges with optional perforation for easy opening theres no unsightly double seam strip that some machines produce.
Digital Printing
Our Indigo presses are great for short runs. HPs liquid ink technology ensures you get quality that is equal to traditional offset printing methods on a wide variety of stocks.
HP Indigo 5000and HP Indigo 5500
Both presses are capable of working with variable data for an extraordinary level of personalisation. You can change out names, images and/or text to make every output one-of-a-kind.
HPLabel printer
Our HP Indigo WS4600 seven-colour digital label press applies ink in a single pass, so registration is always perfect. And for extra punch, we can do a double hit of colour. Labels are supplied on rolls, for easy application. Print runs can include several SKUs on a single roll.
Latex printer
Soars HP Designjet L26500 latex printer can produce advertising posters, promotional displays, light box backlit films, exhibition pull up banners, billboards, wall murals and anything else you can think of that needs long-lasting ink.
Large Format Printing
Bigger-than-normal printing has become a real strength at Soar. In recent years we’ve invested in a number of high-end large format digital presses that allow us to say “yes” to almost any wide or large format printing job.
Our large format printing specialist David Kennedy works closely with Soar’s account management team to identify the best substrate and ink type for every project. Choices depend on desired lifespan and whether the print will be used outdoors or indoors. We can print on substrates up to 60mm thick, including highly durable rigid aluminium composite material.
Here’s a summary of our large print capabilities:
Vehicle wraps and window graphics
Our printing technology produces beautiful window and vehicle graphics that will look great for as long as you need them. If you don’t have a graphic designer to help with the visuals, Soar Studio can provide design and artwork services. You’ll be able to see a mock-up on screen, so you’ll know exactly what the end product will look like. More about window and vehicle graphics
Branded wallpaper
Soar can print onto self-adhesive vinyl, which can be hung like wallpaper in reception areas, offices and public spaces. As well as handling pre-production and printing, we supervise installation.
Temporary and permanent signage
We can print onto vinyl or directly onto rigid substrates. Our large format latex printer uses light-fast inks, which are ideal for outdoor use.
Trade show banners
For pull-up banners for trade shows, we can supply the hardware (600mm x 2m or 1200mm x 2m) as well as the banner printing, plus we’re able to re-skin banner hardware - a process that includes printing and re-fixing new banners. Light-block backing ensures your banner isn’t affected by show-through. More about banner printing.
Health & Safety signage
Changes to the Health & Safety Act make it necessary to warn employees and visitors about hazards at your location. Large format multi-message boards are a great solution.
Point of sale posters
Give your sales an instant rev-up with promotional pieces that demand attention and work harder. Our large format printing capability is your big advantage. More about point of sale printing.
